This is a template for preparing an order of service for a marriage. It is taken from the Church of England’s service book Common Worship: Pastoral Services 2000. These are the headings for the service and for most couples a printed order of service will contain these headings and the text of any hymns.  Detailed texts of the full service are available via the Church of England website http://www.yourchurchwedding.org/

This website also has information on readings, music and hymns including clips so you can read the words and hear what they sound like.

This order follows the pattern at St Mylor where the registration takes place before the dismissal. It includes provision for four hymns, though it’s for each couple to talk through with me whether they would like hymns and if so how many and what they are.  Many couples choose to have three hymns with the third hymn either before or after the registration. You could have a hymn in both places, which is why they are numbered 3 and 4.

As you develop your ideas about the service keep in touch - I’m happy to offer advice about how we can help to make sure your service is truly memorable for you and your guests.
